Design-for-Manufacture (DFM)
At JK Engineering, we provide a comprehensive Design-for-Manufacture service for our customers.
We are always keen to assist with the entire DFM process, not only to help to improve a product’s design, but also to ensure that the entire manufacturing process can run smoothly and be as trouble-free as possible.
When a job is placed with us, we first analyse all requirements carefully to identify any practical issues or challenges in any design, so that they can be fully ironed out before production starts, saving both time and money. Our specialist CAD / CAM system, in the hands of our expert technicians, also allows us to reliably simulate every job before manufacturing, resulting in quicker set-up times. Once manufacturing starts, we keep our customers informed at every stage.
Our huge experience and depth of knowledge in manufacturing some of the most complex components (in many different materials) enables us to help our customers to consistently attain what they are seeking to achieve, through optimising their designs. For us, it’s about being more than just a sub-contractor for a customer but working in partnership with them, throughout the whole DFM process. This often extends to prototyping and reverse engineering of products, especially where they might historically have been made from castings, but where machining them from solids is not only viable but can offer much greater design flexibility as well.
